Do I Need a Full Session or a Mini Session?
When it comes to family photos, one of the first decisions you’ll need to make is whether to book a full session or a mini session. Both are wonderful (and trust me, we’ll create beautiful images no matter what you choose), but they’re different experiences and one might be a better fit for your family than the other. Let’s break it down in a fun way so you can decide which one is perfect for you!
Mini Sessions: Quick, Fun, and Perfect for Busy Families
A mini session is like the espresso shot of photo shoots—short, sweet, and gives you exactly what you need without taking up too much time.
Why choose a mini?
- You’ve got little ones who run out of patience faster than a toddler with an empty snack cup.
- You want just a handful of beautiful, updated photos (think: holiday cards or a quick seasonal family refresh).
- Your schedule is packed, and 20 minutes is all you can spare.
- You love the idea of a quick, easy experience (bonus: your partner might appreciate this one!).
Mini sessions are fast-paced and focused, which means less time for exploring and playing but perfect if you’re all about efficiency.
Full Sessions: Relaxed, Playful, and All About Your Story
A full session is like sitting down with your favourite coffee and actually drinking it while it’s still hot (moms, you know what I mean). It’s one full hour to slow down, connect, and create a gallery of images that truly tell your family’s story.
Why choose a full session?
- You want a wide variety of images: candid moments, posed groupings, individual portraits, and plenty of in-between laughs.
- Your kids need a little time to warm up to new people (totally normal!).
- You’d love to explore a location, let the kids run, and capture those playful, authentic moments.
- You want a bit of time for outfit changes or special requests (like capturing those sweet snuggles AND a sibling tickle fight).
- You want to be able to select your own date and location.
Full sessions give us time to relax, take breaks when needed, and capture the kind of genuine, connected images that tell your family’s story.
So… Which Is Right for You?
Ask yourself: What’s my goal? If you just need a few updated photos and want to keep it short and sweet, a mini session might be perfect. If you want a storytelling experience with lots of variety and time to breathe, go for the full session, you won’t regret it.
No matter what you choose, the most important thing is that you’re in the photos (yes, YOU, mom!). Whether we’re capturing a quick 20 minutes of magic or spending a full hour creating a gallery you’ll treasure for years, I’m here to make it easy, fun, and meaningful.
Still can’t decide? I’m just a message away!
